Professor Claire Eyers is an award-winning biological mass-spectrometry scientist, Director of the Centre for Proteome Research and Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Impact at the University of Liverpool. Her research advances proteomics technologies for understanding cell signalling, protein modification and disease. She is internationally recognised for pioneering work on protein phosphorylation, including the discovery of widespread non-canonical phosphorylation in human cells. As a co-founder and Scientific Director of Bio-Shape, Claire brings scientific leadership and advanced analytical expertise to the characterisation of proteins, carbohydrates and their conjugates.
Principal Scientist
Dr Matthew Russell is a biological mass-spectrometrist and bioinformatition and the Principal Scientist at Bio-Shape, specialising in proteomics, advanced data analysis and scientific software development. Matthew combines experimental science, computational modelling and machine learning to transform complex mass-spectrometry and ion-mobility data into biological insight. At Bio-Shape, he leads the development of practical analytical workflows and scalable software that translate cutting-edge research into valuable tools for biotechnology and biopharmaceutical organisations.
Compares proteomics platforms and shows how discovery data can support pathway analysis and practical process monitoring in established and emerging biomanufacturing chassis.
Combines ion-mobility mass spectrometry and molecular modelling to reveal coexisting conformational families in a cold-regulated intrinsically disordered protein.
Tests LC–MS/MS quantitation of skin-swab lipids and identifies stable triacylglycerol ratios that help correct sampling and extraction variability.
